Fascia painting
Preparation and painting of suitable timber or metal fascias. Peeling paint, weathered surfaces and exposed areas are assessed so the quote allows for the preparation needed.
Downpipe painting
Repaint suitable downpipes to match your gutters or complement the roof and walls. We can include downpipes in the same quote so the colour choices work together.
Preparation matched to the surface
A fresh coat needs a suitable surface underneath it. Depending on the material and condition, preparation may include:
- Cleaning away dirt, mould and other surface contamination.
- Removing loose or flaking coatings and sanding where required.
- Treating suitable areas of surface rust.
- Applying a compatible primer where the substrate or coating system requires it.
- Applying suitable exterior topcoats, generally two coats where specified by the selected system.
We commonly use suitable Dulux and Taubmans products. The actual primer and topcoat are selected for the surface, existing finish and application requirements, rather than using one product on every job.
Painting is not a gutter repair
Paint does not repair rust-through, leaking joints, rotten timber or structural deterioration. If we find these issues, we’ll explain what needs assessment, repair or replacement before painting can proceed.

A coordinated roofline finish
We repainted the roof, gutters and fascia at this North Maclean home. The front gable and guttering show how the new roofline colour brings the finishes together.

Charcoal roof with light grey gutters and fascia
Alongside the Charcoal roof restoration, we repainted the gutters, fascias and downpipes in light grey. The job included cleaning, preparation, minor roof repairs and pointing touch-ups, followed by sealer and two coats of Dulux roof membrane on the roof.
The gutter and fascia work was part of the agreed project scope.

We repainted the metal roof, gutters and fascias in Cottage Green. The work also included gutter guard installation as part of that project.

Adding gutter painting to roof work
If you’re arranging roof painting or restoration, ask us to assess the gutters, fascia and downpipes at the same time. We’ll identify which surfaces need repainting and list those items separately in the quote.
Gutter and fascia painting is an additional service; it is not automatically included in every roof painting price. Separate jobs may also be suitable, depending on condition, access and the scope of work.
What affects the quote?
- The length and extent of guttering, fascia and downpipes.
- Timber or metal surfaces and whether they have been painted before.
- Loose coatings, surface rust and other preparation needed.
- Storeys, height, access and any equipment required.
- Colour changes and whether the work is combined with roof painting.
We assess the property before giving a final price. No fixed price or coating lifespan is assumed for every surface.

Can Colorbond or previously painted gutters be repainted?
Suitable gutters can be repainted after assessment and preparation. We check the metal, existing coating and surface condition, then select compatible primers and topcoats where required. Badly deteriorated guttering may need replacement rather than paint.
Do you paint timber and metal fascia?
Yes, we prepare and paint suitable timber and metal fascia surfaces. The preparation and coating system depend on the material and existing finish. Rotten timber or structural damage needs attention before painting.
Can you paint my downpipes to match?
Yes. Tell us which downpipes you want included and whether you’d like them to match the gutters, roof or walls. We’ll assess their surface and include the agreed work in your quote.
Can I request gutter painting without having the roof painted?
You can request a separate assessment. Suitability depends on access, surface condition and the amount of work involved. Let us know the suburb, number of storeys and surfaces you want painted.
Will painting fix rusty or leaking gutters?
No. Suitable surface rust may be treated during preparation, but paint does not fix rust holes, leaking joints or deteriorated metal. Those problems need separate assessment and repair or replacement.
How long will the work take?
Timing depends on access, the amount of preparation, drying and recoating requirements, and suitable weather. We’ll discuss the likely schedule after assessing the job rather than promise the same timeframe for every property.
